2025 May 22nd -5th June
2025 Mid September (if there is demand)

An Adventure in your camper should be exciting and something to look back at with memories and smiles. With our experience in Off Road Adventure travel we are offering a road trip that will still offer amazing views and vistas but on a smoother and maybe less direct path which will offer a more back country feel to your holiday and adventure.

If this is the first time you are looking at travelling abroad or the 20th Adventure we can offer as much or little assistance in the preparation and planning for the trip. When your deposit is paid you will have access to a WhatsApp group to meet your fellow travellers and to ask any questions you may have and to build the excitement for the Adventure.

When and Where are we going?

The Adventure will start in Bilbao, Spain on Saturday 24th May with our first stop being a supermarket, although your adventure may start earlier with your travel to the start location. We will depart the UK on the 22nd May with Brittany Ferries on the evening boat that take 30 hours to arrive in Spain and your are welcome to travel with us or make your own way through France on the roads. We offer discounts with Brittany Ferries as part of your booking however you want to cross the channel in to mainland Europe, we would definitely recommend the longer crossing to Spain and have your first day of holiday on the boat relaxing from the troubles of everyday life and ready to start your adventure feeling fresh.

Starting out from Bilbao we will make our way towards the Bardenas Reales desert which has hard packed trails, amazing views, home to Europe's largest air to ground bombing range, and the film location for many big and small screen flicks including James Bond and Game of Thrones. From the desert we will continue on towards the Pyrenees where some of the wild life that we are used to seeing in zoos will be in its natural habitat, the Vultures and Eagles are a fairly easy spot from the comfort of the van at lunch stops.

When we get to the city of Jaca we will have a day to explore the Roman City and even go in to the famous star-shaped Citadel that is also home to the worlds largest collection of lead soldiers. As we make our way along the southern Spanish side of the mountain range we will approach the big mountains of the mid Pyrenees taking us in to Andorra.

Andorra is an amazing country surrounded by big mountains way over 2000m which will give us the opportunity to explore some very high roads and get those amazing views and make a stop at the second longest Tibetan Bridge in the world with the option to take a walk across if you are brave enough.

From the High peaks we will make our way south towards Barcelona and explore the monastery at Montserrat that sits at 1000m up on a mountain, that can only be described as something from Lord of the Rings (Mordor) as you approach from 10+ miles away. The monastery is a working site while open to the public, it also offers many ways to arrive. We will drive up and park, but you could take the train, cable car or even the pilgrims trail by foot which takes nearly a day. The site also has a Funicular Railway to the very high peaks looking down on to the monastery which we would definitely recommend doing soon after you arrive as it gets very busy.

Now our direction turns north and westwards towards the boat home, but fear not the Adventure is not over, we still have to travel back through the Greenwich meridian on our way and the final stop of the trip will be in Rioja region.

The final full day of the trip will take us to the world famous Vineyard of Campo Viejo where we will arrive driving through the vines and approaching what appears on the surface to be not very big at all. When we enter the main building we will get to experience the full journey of the famous wine with a tour taking us from soil, to grape, and to the bottle which takes place in the purpose built site that is mainly below ground and can only be described like a James Bond villain's lair. Rest assured we won't be leaving the wine in the bottle as we have a tasting at the bar when we return to the surface, and when you are relaxed we will have access to the factory shop.

While our trip will officially end here on the 3rd June, if you are travelling back by boat with us the following day (4th June) there is one last opportunity for a little more sight-seeing in Santander before we have to board the boat. While our boat does not leave port till 14:00 hours the port opens its gates at 08:00 and your boarding pass lets you in and out of the secure site straight in to the heart of the city and is conveniently situated right next to Centro Botín Museum which sits on stilts and also overhangs the sea with some amazing cantilever science.

The only restriction that will hinder your Adventure is if you have lowered you camper below the standard height as some of the entrances and the desert crossing can be bumpy.
