Horseshoe pitching is a traditional lawn game (a bit like quoits) usually played by 2 individuals or between 2 teams - so we provide 2 ends (set-ups) to make a team competition easier.
The game involves throwing 2 horseshoes each towards a stake set in the lawn to see who can get the closest to, or a 'ringer' around, the stake.
Points are awarded based on the position of your horseshoes in relation to the stake. The winning person, or team, is the first one to reach a pre-agreed score or has the highest score at the end of a set number of ends.
Horseshoes are thrown (pitched) underarm and your grip can affect the trajectory. We provide some hints and tips. The game is simple to pick up, but hard to master!
Our Horseshoe pitching set-up can be booked with, or without, an instructor and can be added to any of our instructor-led bookings at a discounted rate.
